JOB DESCRIPTION

The nominated post holder for continuing airworthiness is responsible to the Accountable Manager for ensuring that the organisation is always in compliance with Part CAMO/Part M and for the management and supervision of all continuing airworthiness activities. He/She is also the nominated person for Part CAMO for extension of ARC.

Key Responsibilities

• The nominated post holder for Continuing Airworthiness will ensure that all Continuing Airworthiness Management is carried out according to the prescriptions of.
• Ensure that all maintenance is carried out on time and to an approved standard. 
• Establishment and development of Continuing Airworthiness policy, including the approval of Starspeed Limited maintenance Programmes.
• Analysis of the effectiveness of the Maintenance Programme.
• Monitoring the implementation of the maintenance Programme Selection of the Part 145 maintenance contractors and establishment and amendment of Maintenance Contracts.
• Ensuring the department remains in compliance with its own procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Approval by the CAA of Starspeed Limited Technical Log, including any subsequent amendment thereto.
• Ensuring that Starspeed Limited technical records are kept and controlled and presented to the CAA if requested.
• Monitoring of maintenance standards.
• Modifications and repairs (changes) are reviewed and carried out to an approved standard.
• Airworthiness Directive review and embodiment.
• Non mandatory modification embodiment policy.
• Monitoring of all defects and their rectification.
• Monitoring of Line and base maintenance activity.
• That Starspeed Limited pilots are duly trained and authorised to issue Certificates of Release to Service, where necessary and appropriate, by the contracted Part 145 maintenance organisations.
• That the Airworthiness Review Certificate for each helicopter operated by the company remains valid in respect of; the airworthiness of the helicopter, b. the expiry date specified on the Certificate, and c. any other condition specified in the Certificate.
• Analysis of and reporting any occurrences of a maintenance nature to the CAA and the aircraft manufacturers.
• This includes both Mandatory Occurrences and occurrences related to maintenance findings, which fall outside the Mandatory scheme.
• The review, amendment and control of the Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition. Review and implementation, as appropriate, of any additional UK CAA national requirements.
• Training Policy and the Review of training needs and personnel requirements.
• 12 Monthly liaison meetings to discuss maintenance, airworthiness, Compliance and MOR issues.
• Reviewing Weight and balance reports.
• In liaison with the Accountable Manager and the Compliance Manager, an Annual Review of CAA and internal audit corrective action recommendations.
• Advising the CAA of changes to the Maintenance Support. 3.
• Person Specification Essential Desirable Qualifications Completed formal aeronautical education and have either an Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License or a Degree Experience Minimum 5 years as an Airworthiness Engineer. Previous experience as Form 4 Holder.
• Knowledge Expert knowledge of the Part 145 Regulations, AMM and AMP, Part CAMO, OTARS SMS and Compliance Skills Effective manager with high levels of technical skill.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good IT skills Competencies Ability to work as part of a team and well organised.
• Financially competent.
