As a key member of the Research and Advanced Engineering team, the individual will be working on highly innovative, cutting-edge electric drive units. The individual will be responsible for developing and testing proof-of-concept prototype drive units. Following prototype validation, the projects will be largely handed over to other teams to continue development into mass production, however the Research and Advanced team will continue to support as required.   

The key responsibilities in this role will be to:

  • Develop innovative concepts for highly integrated and lightweight powertrain systems. 
  • Detailed design of all mechanical components and integration of the full system, including housings, shafts, sealing, etc.
  • Explore and design advanced motor cooling concepts for rotor and stator including initial thermal analysis and eventually prototype testing
  • Cooperate with FEM/CFD engineers for detailed component optimization
  • 3D CAD and drawing releases.
  • Support supplier selection and purchasing
  • Support the manufacture and assembly of prototype designs.
  • Support prototype testing, including design of test rigs.
  • Research and explore novel and innovative technologies to support future product roadmap.
