Model Specific Electrical System Integration:

  • Responsible for deploying Electrical systems including both new and existing components and architectures onto a new model development in line with vehicle development stage-gates.
  • Coordination of qualitative vehicle specific feedback exercises using test riders, and generation of reports justifying configuration parameters e.g. heated grip thresholds, ambient light adjustment parameters.
  • Coordinating the use of electrical development bikes both on site and off site (with suppliers). Arranging logistics e.g. couriers, where necessary to transport bikes to suppliers and test sites.

Management of Model Configurations:

  • ECU (Electronic Control Unit) configuration planning and release across EOW (End-of Workshop) and EOL (End-of-Line) stations to support build plan, market, and model variants.
  • Working with EES team component engineers to generate applicable ECU calibration files in line with the model specification.
  • Pre-build application testing of software and configurations, on development or ‘lab’ bike, ensuring each system’s communication nodes work correctly.
  • Configuring development / lab bike to ALL different variants including accessory options- e.g. disable configuration / fit optional parts, then test.
  • Release of justification reports for configuration parameters, capturing outcomes of both subjective and objective feedback exercises as appropriate.

Vehicle Level Issue Investigation (Electrical Focus):

  • Vehicle DTC log reviews generated by the EOW tool.
  • Monitoring of bike level DTC’s recorded, coordinating investigation and resolution where required through close interaction with specialist teams.
  • First line investigation of CAN logger data, aiming to resolve issues before escalating with specialist teams.
  • Identifying and reporting software bugs observed during vehicle testing/integration, to the specialist EES teams.

Vehicle Build Support:

  • Supporting vehicle build and resolving issues promptly to minimise any delay.
  • End-of-Line (EOL) / End-of-workshop (EOW) system trials, preparation, and audit to ensure readiness for all build stage-gates.
  • Coordinating initial testing of vehicle level functionality at each build and providing approval to test / approval to despatch confirmations to the vehicle team to progress with on-road testing and homologation.
  • Generation of vehicle level test plans and reports to support rigorous system validation.

Vehicle Testing:

  • Working with the vehicle test fleet coordinator, scheduling Vehicle level approval tests, coordination and report generation for assigned models.
  • Preparing vehicle level test reports for release.
