We are recruiting for a driven and committed Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to work for our well established and rapidly expanding client based in Newton Abbot, Devon.

They have a highly experienced team who specialise in the design and manufacture of converting automation equipment, which now has a focus on PPE Machines and laser technology. Due to this, the post is an exciting and dynamic position that would suit someone who is flexible and thrives in a busy environment.

Job Description

• Using SolidWorks, take a senior role developing new machine designs, from concept to finished detailed design.
• Project management – working with established design engineers to develop projects to meet specified technical requirements, budgetary needs and achieving target deadlines.
• Client facing
• Support the development of new manufacturing processes required to sustain growth of the company, based on adopting a continuous improvement approach.
• Contribute to decision making, ultimately becoming a thought leader within the company for mechanical design decisions.
• Technical Manuals, RAMS, CE Marking

Qualifications/Experience

• Degree educated in relevant subject, preferably mechanical engineering (2:1 minimum)
• OR HNC/HND educated in relevant subject, preferably mechanical engineering
• Possess an advanced working knowledge of SolidWorks
• Automation experience essential
• Experience within the converting sector advantageous
• Proven senior level leadership skills
• Strong IT skills
