As a Senior SCADA Engineer, you will be leading project teams to contribute to the digitalisation effort of medium- and large- size worldwide customers, operating in a variety of industry segments, including food & beverage, automotive, life sciences, and aerospace.

You will work in a multidisciplinary and multinational environment where you will have to understand manufacturing processes and be able to work with cutting-edge technologies to support the integrated implementation of automation and SCADA systems, as well as Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

In this role you are responsible for the design, development, testing and deployment of these industry solutions for customers in the U.K as well as globally. Operating as a Senior SCADA Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting solutions to meet the customer’s requirements and translating the architecture into a functional and technical design. The Senior SCADA Engineer will have the pleasure of leading a team of skilled Application Engineers to realize the solution as architected and per the defined scope of work. The Senior SCADA Engineer also provides technical presales support to our customers as required by the sales team. This role requires the ability to travel and work from a customer site. As such this role provides the opportunity to travel for project implementations, as well as the potential to participate in global implementation programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be proactive in the conceptual design or enhancement of design of solutions.
  • Work as part of a team and take instruction and guidance from the project manager / team lead.
  • Work to defined timescales and quality procedures.
  • Design, Develop, build and test control systems from the MES layer through to the shop floor as defined by the project.
  • In-house testing of defined solutions
  • Installation and commissioning of the project either in a test environment or the final site.
  • Provide operation and maintenance training to customers and internal support staff.
  • Lead with support of the applications developed.
  • Lead others in the production of technical sales proposals and project change requests.
  • Interface with all levels of customer stakeholders for detailed planning and delivery of the project.
  • Take ownership and responsibility of the solution within their control.
Industry and Technical Knowledge:
  • Experience in Inductive Automation Software (Ignition)
  • Significant Manufacturing process & automation background (PLC’s, SCADA, MES etc.)
  • Proven experience & ownership through a project lifecycle and its stages (PRINCE 2)
  • Proven Technical Authoring Skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Administration of Windows Server & Operating systems
  • Microsoft SQL Server & Reporting Services knowledge
  • Experience of Network topologies
  • Scripting HL Language experience
