Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

The key aim of this role is to develop software applications for functional testing of product and data logging

Develop and maintain product tracking software tools and databases

Provide test specifications for module, sub-assembly, final assembly and QA tests

Assist with the development of production test strategies Module and Final assemblies

Maintain existing test software to keep pace with NPI, new variants and change control

Develop and maintain a close relationship with design engineering team to ensure products are designed for optimum manufacturing test solutions

Support factory test data logging on internal network and reporting tools

Assist in the development of variant verification processes and tracking automation

Assist with prototype builds and NPI, feedback design for assembly / test issues to engineering team

Provide production test support, assist in diagnostics and failure analysis

Specify and implement production test IT equipment in line with IT policies and procedures

Identify test escapes and implement continuous improvements

Provide work instructions to support product test and configuration

Work closely with the customer software and support teams to coordinate and integrate production test software

Position Profile:
Working within the manufacturing engineering team this role is primarily to develop and maintain production test and verification software applications for sub-assemblies, modules and final products. With a bias on PC application software the role is to design, produce test applications to ensure delivered product quality.
Documentation for test strategies, specifications and work instructions is key to ensuring that all products have the appropriate level of testing and verification prior to delivery.
Experience

3-5 years in a software application development role ideally in a manufacturing test environment

Electronics hardware knowledge is an advantage

Experience of automated test and integrated test systems is desirable
Skills and Personal Attributes

Core coding skills in C# using visual studio

Good written and communication skills

Must have excellent IT productivity tool knowledge (MS Office tools, Excel, Word etc)

Experience of interfacing with API’s and control of external peripherals via serial interfaces

A proficient knowledge of Linux OS (Ubuntu)

Understanding of SQL data interface

Web development

SoC coding experience, Embedded firmware, Arduino code, RPi or BeagleBone etc is an advantage

Knowledge and experience of LabView is an advantage

An understanding of electronic principles

Able to demonstrate an ability for problem solving

Proficient data analysis skills

Self-motivated and able to work alone or in a team environment
