About this position

We are currently working with an industry leader in power generation systems, their Control System specialists offer generator control upgrades with full system integration, fuel and pump controls and loading and load shedding control systems.

With their own fully equipped workshop, it enables them to build a range of bespoke panels from low voltage PLC controls systems to Motor Control Centres.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To lay-out and wire control systems to wiring diagrams.
  • Review panel wiring diagrams.
  • Check ordered parts are correct to the control panel wiring diagrams.
  • Layout the control panel to the control panel wiring diagrams.
  • Wire the control panel to the control panel wiring diagrams.
  • Liaise with design section, for correction, modifications as required.
  • Dead test the control panel to the control panel wiring diagrams.
  • Function test the control panel to the control panel wiring diagrams and test documentation.
  • Prepare control panels documentation.
  • Prepare control panels for delivery.
  • To coach and remain staff for personal development and succession planning through talent management delivering staff.
  • Deliver the project in accordance with business forecast and budget.

Experience Required:

  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical integrated systems.
  • General understanding of British Standards, Building Regulations, HSE requirements, CIBSE statutory bodies and any other relevant documentations/regulations related to the design, procurement & the construction of developments.
  • Understanding of all facets of the construction process.
  • Experience working with Control Panels.
  • Experience with Gauge Cables.
  • Reading Electrical drawings.
  • Previous work experience in this field.
  • Self-driven and willingness to learn, adopting a ‘can do’ mentality and work ethic to strive to deliver an exemplar standard.
  • Operate with a ‘one team’ approach demonstrating flexible engagement with internal and external customers in collaboration with the project team.
  • Pragmatic/common sense approach always demonstrating a sense of ownership.
  • Operates with consistent effort, overcoming obstacles in order to achieve a goal.
