Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist other Electrical Engineers on projects to deliver required engineering outputs.
  • Support on the quality, completeness, consistency and accuracy of deliverables necessary for the completion of assigned projects.
  • Assist the Senior Electrical Engineer on Projects responsible for all aspects from cost management, design/engineering deliverables, site supervision and commissioning.
  • Support with the Management of electrical installation contracts on time and budget including tender preparation, negotiation, and award.
  • Will be involved in the management of project deliverables associated with the electrical works.
  • Ensure progress, changes, costs, issues etc. are communicated to the Client regularly and appropriately, and to ensure that the Client is appropriately involved throughout the project.
  • Provide input to the Sales & Proposals team as and when required including development of technical and commercial solutions.
  • Attendance at both UK and overseas project sites as agreed with your Line Manager/ Director to suit the needs and demands of projects.
  • Attendance at both UK and overseas project sites to oversee installations and commissioning support.
  • Liaison and assistance with the overall project team, Client team and third-party suppliers.
  • Be an active member of the Electrical Engineering dept mentoring and developing the Graduate and Apprentice Electrical Engineers
  • Act as a positive role model and provide leadership within the business ensuring professional standards are maintained.
  • Electrical and instrumentation design, supplier liaison, tendering and procurement.
  • Control and MCC panel design, tendering and procurement.
  • Specification of digital and analogue instrumentation
  • PLC Hardware design, tendering and procurement.
  • Preparation of drawings and schedules for an overall electrical scheme using E-Plan, AutoCAD, intelligent P&ID/Database.
  • Monitor electrical design and installation quality throughout project.
  • Supervision of electrical installation works.
  • Develop and monitor project programmes.
  • Testing and commissioning of electrical, control and instrumentation including fault finding and basic rectification.
  • Finalise, check and issue ‘as installed’ documentation.
  • Generate project reports to your Line Manager.
  • Assisting the electrical engineering and automation department
  • Ensuring all required national/international standards are worked to and wherever necessary/required adherence to client specifications.
  • Being part of or leading a commissioning team.
  • Assisting the commissioning team.
  • Onsite training of client operatives as required.
  • Being familiar with ATEX/SIL/Machinery safety.

Experience Required:

  • Electrical Engineering Degree or HND or HNC, preferably MIET
  • Prepared to work towards IEng or CEng status.
  • Language – English (any foreign language skills could be considered beneficial)
  • Minimum of 3 experience in Engineering preferably within the hygienic process industries (brewing/distil-ling/food/pharmaceutical/health & beauty).
  • Excellent knowledge of engineering within batch processes within the hygienic process industries.
  • Understanding of Briggs products and engineering services.
  • MS office also proficient in Excel, Access, Microsoft Project.
  • Working knowledge: AutoCAD, E-Plan, Trimble cable and protective device design capable, other bespoke engineering software packages.
  • Technical knowledge of analogue process instrumentation, variable Speed Drives (VSD’s), digital instrumentation and PLC hardware.
