Job Title: Project Engineering Manager

Position Overview: The Project Engineering Manager will oversee the execution and coordination of all engineering tasks for a specific project, focusing on quality, safety, cost, and time management. You will lead a team of engineers to ensure successful project delivery within scope, budget, and timeline. This role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of engineering principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Coordination & Communication:

    • Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the engineering team.
    • Report regularly to the Project Manager on the status of engineering tasks and decisions.
  2. Project Management:

    • Achieve engineering targets and milestones as defined in the project schedule.
    • Define and implement corrective measures for any discrepancies related to time, budget, scope, or efficiency.
  3. Safety & Compliance:

    • Ensure all HSE requirements and local regulations (e.g., environmental limits, product safety) are considered and complied with.
    • Ensure product safety requirements are met in the design process.
  4. Technical Leadership:

    • Work with the Director of Engineering to ensure the technical quality, integrity, and adequacy of all design engineering work.
    • Ensure timely execution of engineering meetings, reporting, and milestones.
  5. Schedule Management:

    • Provide input for a comprehensive project schedule and resolve any schedule-related engineering issues.
    • Review and analyze schedule deviations and establish engineering recovery plans as needed.
  6. Tools & Documentation:

    • Define and coordinate engineering tools and data transfers.
    • Ensure proper documentation control, including defining format and structure according to contractual requirements.
  7. Risk & Procurement Support:

    • Assist in technical risk assessment according to project risk management rules.
    • Support procurement during the engineering phase and provide site support during construction and commissioning phases.
  8. Execution & Adaptation:

    • Develop and/or adapt the project execution concept with line management and the Project Manager as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of engineering principles and project management.
  • Experience in managing engineering teams and complex projects.
  • Knowledge of safety standards, local regulations, and engineering codes.
