About this Position:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Stress Engineer/Analyst to join our clients team. As part of a collaborative team, you will work on all phases of the project life cycle, including design, development, production, and customer support. A strong mathematical emphasis is required to ensure the integrity and performance of the designs meet all required standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute tasks to achieve timescales and costs in alignment with designated KPIs.
  • Own problems and provide pragmatic engineering solutions to challenging timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative design solutions that meet customer requirements and project objectives.
  • Attend PDR (Preliminary Design Review) and DDR (Detailed Design Review) meetings to provide detailed reports.
  • Generate technical reports and documentation to communicate analysis results and recommendations.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise to support development and improvement.
  • Conduct thorough analyses and investigations of non-conformance issues, including root cause and failure mode analysis.
  • Monitor and track the progress of corrective actions, ensuring timely completion and effectiveness.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to resolve non-conformance issues and improve overall product quality.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of non-conformance reports, investigations, and corrective actions.

Experience Required:

  • Proficiency in stress analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, MSC NASTRAN, Altair HyperMesh), ideally ANSYS.
  • Experience in analysing complex engineering structures.
  • Expertise in conventional hand calculation techniques for static analysis.
  • Knowledge of numerical (finite element) techniques for static analysis.
  • Experience with structural analysis of mechanical components, including power transmission systems, gears, and gearboxes.
  • Familiarity with structural analysis practices and methodologies, including significant structural redesigns.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the Aerospace and Defense industry.
  • Experience in heavy engineering industries, power transmission systems, gears, and gearboxes.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems and industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
